FAMM^®  - FULLY AUTOMATIC MOUNTING MACHINE FOR NARROW WEB HIGH SPEED MOUNTING OF CYLINDERS IN THE LABEL INDUSTRY

The top range of AV Flexologic mounting machines for mounting flexographic photopolymer printing plates on sleeves. This machine has been developed for our customers who demand the highest standards such as: mounting speed, repeatability, consistency and accuracy.

The system is based on two co-ordinates (register-marks) that have been applied on the printing plate perpendicular to the making direction.
The patented FAMM^® is equipped with a computer that controls all the motorized variables that are necessary for mounting the flexo plates fully automatic in the exact positions. The system works with interactive cameras that can read the digital positions of the markings and a manipulator that controls the positioning of the plate.

Once the plate is in position it is mounted automatically. After mounting, the system can read the register mark positions again, reports the actual position and a confirmation if the plate is mounted within the set tolerances. This FAMM^® is built for customers who have standardised their cylinder systems on the narrow web press. It can handle a specific type of cylinder holding system, different repeat lengths and register marks as small as micro dots. When using the FAMM^®, all mounting mistakes are eliminated and the accuracy and efficiency in the pre press department considerably increased.

The software is a masterpiece that shows all machine handlings while operating. It is based on the wide web FAMM version and adapted to work with high speed single plate mounting per cylinder. Only few training is required to operate the machine.

The sturdy construction of the FAMM^® ensures that the flexo plates are mounted without corrections, fully automatic. A manual override ensures mounting of exceptional plates. The FAMM^® saves labour time, increases efficiency resulting in a fast ROI. Handling 300 to 400 cilinders per day in one machine for mounting plates is no exception with the FAMM^® HS.
