Sleeve Service Station

The Mount-O-Matic Sleeve Service Station 850 & 1300 for mounting flexo printing plates onto sleeves is specifically designed for the narrow web flexible packaging industry. Sleeves can be changed in the fastest and easiest way. The Sleeve Service Station is also suitable for mounting of offset printing plates onto special sleeves with a gap and for mounting of offset rubber blankets onto custom made sleeves.

The system is based on two mounting marks that have been applied on the printing plate perpendicular to the making direction. The Sleeve Service Station is equipped with a bracket on the right-hand side that can be opened by hand. One person can exchange sleeves with the help of compressed air. Bearings on both sides ensure accurate mounting.

Perpendicular above the shaft, two high magnification high resolution fire wire colour cameras with optical lenses are mounted on precision guides. The camera beam is temperature treated and precisely grinded to ensure the best calibration for the high quality results. The cameras can be positioned sideways by hand.

The images of the cameras are displayed on a split screen monitor. The operator has a choice of hairlines, e.g. single crosses, double movable lines, sizable circles and combinations. Snapshots of the mounting marks can be taken and displayed faded on the monitor to mount image on image.

The rotation of the air cylinder is motorized and operated by means of a foot pedal. A mounting table supports the plate during the mounting process, so that the operator can mount the plate in the correct position. A pressure roller ensures that the printing plate is mounted with equal pressure and without air inclusions.

By leaving the cameras in position, a next colour will be mounted in exact the same position.
