Mount-O-Matic DD Series

The Mount-O-Matic D.D.-series are especially developed for the medium wide-web flexo printing machines which are only provided with sleeves. Standard available in three different maximum widths: 1070 mm; 1270 mm and 1500 mm. Special widths available on request.

The patented Mount-O-Matic D.D. is computer controlled by means of the proven Windows Flexologic software and provided with mounting table with micro adjustments, two controlled high-definition cameras, onesplit screen monitor with high magnification of the cross mark and/or micro dots (18x magnification) and a proofing cylinder with digital adjustment, for a perfect proof.

After mounting, the plate cylinder is automatically positioned to subsequently pull a perfect proof (also automatically). The print nip, left and right, can, if necessary, be set and adjusted by increasing or decreasing the pressure to either side. The machine is also available without proof (NP = Non Proof)

The computer has a memory capacity of 2 Gb which equals a storage capacity of 2 Gb which equals over 20.000 sleeve monitorings.

The plate is placed and fixed into position on the flat mounting table. To position the plate exactly, the mounting table an be mechanically adjusted, extremely precisely, forwards and backwards and from the left to the right or vice versa, by means of the micro-adjustable control on either side of the table. By means of the stepping motors, the plate cylinder is then automatically moved to an exact position in relation to the mounting table, and in such a way that it is just touching the plate; the plate is then placed on the double-side adhesive and wrapped around the plate cylinder.

AV Plug-in
Information about the positioning of registration crosses/microdots on the flexographic plate is known at an early stage in the workflow. The designer uses the layout to determine the positioning of the register marks on the flexographic plats. The operator of the plate mounting machine measures the positions and enters them into the mounting database.

The moment the information about the registration crosses/microdots is available, AV Flexologic makes it possible to transmit this information to the plate mounting machine by means of an import file function using a MOM file.

The layout file is stored in the form of a Postscript file, and is then converted into a PDF file with Adobe Distiller 4 or higher. (The distiller determines the format of the bounding box in the PDF file. AV Flexologic can provide assistance for the configuration of the distiller for this application.) Next the plug-in Acrobat is started, and the registration crosses/microdots can be specified in the layout. Finally, the registration crosses/microdots, (depending on the version), are exported to a PDF file for the further processing involved in the preparation of the flexographic plates, and to a MOM file for the positioning of the registration crosses/microdots in the MOM DD.
